Предмет овог рада је истраживање жанра научноистраживачког чланка из области техничких наука на енглеском и српском језику. Циљ истраживања јесте да се установе сличности и разлике у реторичкој структури посматраног жанра како би се добиле смернице примењиве у настави језика за академске намене. Теоријски оквир ослања се на сазнања из литературе о теoрији жанра и анализи жанра. Жанр научноистраживачког чланка посматран је из различитих теоријских позиција, а бројна су и истраживања која се баве појединачним деловима овог жанра. Методологија примењена у овом истраживању подразумева прелиминарно истраживање (интервју са фокус групом), контролно истраживање (спровођење упитника) и анализу корпуса (анализа става четири поткорпуса научноистраживачких чланака одабраних их четири академска часописа). Истраживање подразумева триангулацију резултата добијених из три спроведена истраживања. У раду је коришћена већином квалитативна анализа, док је квантитативна анализа примењена само у контролном истраживању приликом анализирања одговора добијених из спроведеног упитника. Резултати анализе указали су нам на сличности и разлике у реторичким ставовима посматраних увода научноистраживачких радова. Закључци овог истраживања могу се применити у настави академског језика за посебне намене, а посебно могу бити корисни академцима на нивоу мастер и докторских студија.

The subject of this paper is research into the genre of research articles in technical sciences in English and Serbian. The goal of the research is to identify similarities and differences in the rhetorical structure of the observed genre to obtain guidelines applicable in teaching language for academic purposes. The theoretical framework relies on the literature on genre theory and genre analysis. The genre of the research article has been observed from different theoretical positions, and there are numerous studies on the separate parts of this genre. The methodology applied in this research includes a preliminary research (an focus group interview), a control research (administering a questionnaire), and a corpus analysis (move analysis of four sub-corpora of scientific research articles compiled from four academic journals). This research involves the triangulation of the results obtained from three conducted studies. This paper mostly employed qualitative analysis, while quantitative analysis was applied only in the control research when analyzing the answers obtained from the questionnaire. The results of the analysis indicated the similarities and differences in the rhetorical moves of the observed introductions of research articles. The conclusions of this research can be applied in the teaching of academic language for specific purposes, especially for academics at the level of postgraduate studies., The subject of this paper is research into the genre of research articles in technical sciences in English and Serbian.
